PEOPLE’S FESTIVAL 24TH ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO BOB MARLEY ( FREE FOR THE PEOPLE )

The People’s Festival is an annual Tribute to Bob Marley held in Wilmington, Delaware, the first home Bob had outside Jamaica. We bring Reggae and world beat music to the stage and promote Peace, Unity, One Love throughout the day, as we were inspired by Bob during his time spent here.

After 23 years, Peoples Festival Organizer and founder Genny Pitts is proud to announce that The 24th Annual Tribute to Bob Marley will move from The Tubman-Garret Riverfront Park, to the heart of the city on 5th and Market! The People’s STREET Festival will be FREE to the public for the first time in 24 years, thanks to our collaboration with Live Nation!

Live Nation will present Jamaica’s Queen of Reggae, ETANA , The Iconic Meditation Band and Ska phenomena; Hip Abduction —- FREE inside The Queen! While Space is limited inside- the STREET Festival will be Jammin Live, and in full swing right out front on Market. Our Street Stage will feature a full line-up of Roots, Rock, Soca , Calypso and Funk until 10 p.m.! Vendors, International Food Court, Beer Garden, Bamboo RainHut and Healing Garden participants will fill the Street! The Delaware Art Museum will host our Children’s Village where kids of all ages can make a drum, masks and much more! Don’t miss this full day of Fun in the Sun for the Whole Family, Bring your friends or come make new ones! FREE all day inside and on the street!!! As has become tradition our Street Stage will feature up and coming local and regional artist.

This tribute to Bob is important to our city’s history! At the request of his Beloved Mother, Ibis and Genny Pitts brought the first “Tribute to Bob Marley” to take root here in 1994. Since then thousands have come to Wilmington and joined in this celebration. World Beat and Reggae Music by great international icons such as; Richie Havens, KRS 1, Damien “Junior Gong” Marley, Stephen Marley, Kymani, Ziggy, and Julian Marley, Toots & the Maytals, Luciano, Third World, SOJA, Slightly Stoopid, and dozens more have been come to perform on our stage! We have featured dozens of up & coming artists from our area including; Richard Raw, Bull Buckers, Spokey Speaky, Judah Tribe, and many more.

Local businesses, community. friends and family continue to make this, one of the most anticipated events of the summer in our region!
