Amidst an economic crisis, massive deportations and war, it is difficult to find a sense of hope. Yet, Olmeca’s “Brown is Beautiful” harnesses the creative inspiration that comes from struggle and celebrates the unification of people and culture in a time of much needed healing. Olmeca brings together a diverse collection of producers that range from Boom-Bap to Latin American Nostalgia to Screwmbia (Latin Trap). Brown is Beautiful’s mind-blowing production ensemble includes genre smashers Mexicans with Guns (Ernest Gonzales) on “Lo Suelto”, Principe Cu (Svani Quintanilla, son of AB Quintanilla of the Kumbia Kings) on “Por El Suelo” and “Learn to Leap”, Bardo Martinez & Eduardo Arenas (Chicano Batman) on “Relo”, Son Jarocho notable Cesar Castro (Quetzal, Cambalache) on “Hasta”.
