Martin Luther King Jr. Day of service kickoff : Jan 17th at the Delaware art museum

Support the community by participating in a service project on MLK Day. Volunteer opportunities will be provided at the Museum and offsite with partners throughout the city. While at the Museum, visit Afro-American Images 1971: The Vision of Percy Ricks and take a tour highlighting work by Black artists. Proof of vaccination required inside the Museum.

9:30 am – 10:30 am Outdoor kickoff celebration at the Museum. Performances by Jea Street, Jr. and Wilmington Children’s Chorus. Remarks by State Senator Elizabeth Lockman and State Representative Sherry Dorsey.

10:30 am Depart to Volunteer Sites

11 am – 1 pm Volunteer Activities at:
Westside Grows – Outdoor community clean up along the United Way Bridge (Adams Street). March and celebration to be postponed till later date TBA
Teen Warehouse (1121 Thatcher St., Wilmington) – Outdoor community street clean up.
One Village Alliance (31 W 31st St, Wilmington) – Community service projects and mentorship program for Raising Kings Week.
Delaware Art Museum –

10:30 am – 1 pm Tours of Afro American Images 1971: The Vision of Percy Ricks available.
