” SPIRITS UP ” CHILO produced by DJ Pause


Chilo teaches history to high school students. During his career as a writer/performer he has featured at hundreds of notable legendary venues, events and institutions, such as as NJPAC, NYU, Yale, Princeton, Lincoln Center, The Apollo Theater, and the Newport Jazz Festival. He is also a founding member of the award winning NYC based poetry collective, El Grito de Poetas. His catalog includes 12 Hip Hop albums and he has appeared in various poetry anthologies, along with his own solo book “Closed Doors and Opened Windows”. In 2015, Chilo featured on the Grammy Winning album “The Offense of the Drum” by Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra.


Dj Pause is a Long Island based producer who has been DJing since the late 90’s and beat making since 2003. In 2011 and 2012, his work with the group Fresh Vetz landed him Honorable Mentions from DJ Premier’s top albums of the year, both of which were entirely produced by DJ Pause. He has shared the stage with artists such as Action Bronson, Skyzoo and the X-Ecutioners and his work has been featured on media outlets such as MTV, XXL, The Source, Nah Right, HipHopdx and others. Through his passion for music, he continues to bring his style and sound to the world.
