Love alive on Market! Come soak up the Rastaman Vibration!
New this year, Old Town Hall will feature a premiere Bob Marley exhibit sponsored by The Delaware Historical Society, open to the public from 2pm-7pm with live music by Jea Street Jr. from 4-7. Don’t miss this rare one of a kind exhibit.
At the request of Marley’s beloved mother, Ibis and Genny Pitts brought the first Marley tribute to fruition in 1994. It is the mission of The Peoples Festival to foster and promote cultural diversity through music, art and educational programs for the purpose of inspiring Unity, One
Love, Equal Rights and Justice for all as we were inspired by our beloved friend and brother, The Honorable Robert Nesta Marley, O.M.
We bring this World class celebration to the community of Wilmington as it was Marley’s first adopted American home, and it was here that Bob and Ibis first met and developed a friendship which is the foundation of this great tribute!
Since its establishment, thousands of people have enjoyed a full day of fun in the sun at The Peoples Festival from areas near and far.
Top ranking international artist such as Richie Havens, KRS 1, Ziggy, Stephen, Damian, & Kymani Marley, Toots & The Maytals, Luciano, Third World, SOJA, Slightly Stoopid, and many more have come here to promote the message and the music of The Rastaman! Presenting our local up-and-coming artists has always been a focus of our festival and acts such as Spokey Speaky, Richard Raw, The 49ers, Bullbukcers, Mean Lady, and a host of others have performed!
